If you tracked a match you played with or against a friend, you can share it with them. Once they accept, the match shows up in their insights, analyzed from their side. First you add each other as friends, then you share the match.

## Before you start

- You can only share a match that is finalized.
- You can only share with someone who has accepted your friend request.
- You choose which player in the match your friend was. Each friend goes on one player, and each player gets one friend.

## On the web

### Add a friend

1. Choose **Friends** in the sidebar.
2. Under **Add a friend**, type your friend's name or the email they use for GGAB.
3. For a name, find them in the list and press **Add**. If they already sent you a request, press **Accept** instead.
4. For an email, press **Send request**. If nobody on GGAB uses that email, we email them an invite to join.
5. Your request waits under **Pending** until they accept. Press **Cancel** to take it back.

Requests sent to you show under **Requests**. Press **Accept** or **Decline**.

### Share a match

1. Choose **Match Tracker** in the sidebar.
2. Press the three-dot menu on the match's row and choose **Share with a friend**. The option only shows on finalized matches.
3. On the row for the player your friend was, pick them in **Assign friend…** and press **Share**.
4. Do the same for anyone else who played. Press **Done** when you're finished.

You can also start from **Friends**. Press **Share a match**, pick the match from the list, then carry on from step 3.

Each shared player shows a status: pending until your friend accepts.

## In the app

### Add a friend

1. Tap the people icon at the top right of a main screen, such as the Dashboard. This opens **Friends**.
2. In **Add a friend**, type a name or an email.
3. For a name, tap **Add** next to them. If they already sent you a request, tap **Accept** instead.
4. For an email, tap the **Invite** button under the box. If they're on GGAB, they get a friend request. If not, we email them an invite to join.
5. Your request waits under **Sent** until they accept. Tap **Cancel** to take it back.

Requests sent to you show under **Requests**, with **Accept** and **Decline**.

The **Friends** screen also has **Share invite link**, which sends a GGAB sign-up link through your phone's share sheet.

### Share a match

1. Open the menu, tap **Performance Insights**, then **Match Breakdown**, and pick the match.
2. Scroll down to **Share with a friend** and tap **Share match**.
3. On the card for the player your friend was, tap your friend's name, then tap **Share**.
4. Do the same for anyone else who played.

You can also start from **Friends**. Tap **Share a match**, then pick the match.

Each shared player shows **Waiting for them to accept** until your friend accepts.

## Can't find them by name?

Name search only lists players who have **Find me in friend search** turned on. Players under 18 and accounts a coach manages are never listed. Add them by email instead.

To change your own setting:

- **Web:** open your account menu at the top right, choose **Settings**, then the **Privacy** tab.
- **App:** open the menu, tap **Settings**, and find it under **About**.

## What your friend sees

1. They get a notification saying a match was shared with them.
2. On their **Friends** page, the match is listed under **Shared with you**. They press **Accept** to add it, or **Decline**. In the app they can also **Report** a share they didn't expect.
3. Once they accept, the match appears in their **Match Breakdown** under **Shared with you**, analyzed as the player you picked for them. It also counts toward their [Trends](https://getgoodatbadminton.com/docs/trends).

Nothing reaches their insights until they accept. When they do, you get a notification saying so. To choose which of these notifications you get, see [How to choose your notifications](https://getgoodatbadminton.com/docs/notifications).

## Stop sharing

- **Unshare one match:** open the share screen for the match the same way you shared it, and press **Unshare** next to the player. In the app, confirm with **Unshare**. The match leaves your friend's insights.
- **After your friend accepts**, only you can unshare it. They can't remove it on their own, but unfriending you removes it.
- **Unfriend:** this stops every match shared between you two, in both directions. On the web, press **Unfriend** next to them on **Friends**. In the app, tap the cross next to their name, then **Remove**.
- **Block:** in the app, the three-dot menu next to a player has **Block player**. Blocking also stops shared matches.
- **If a friend declined**, press **Unshare** to clear that player, then share again.
