How it works
Footwork drills on a pro's clock
The same tracked matches power GGAB's pro match breakdowns. Upload your own match to see where your rallies differ.
What is the GGAB footwork trainer?
- A shadow-footwork drill driven by real professional matches. Each cue appears on the beat a pro actually played it, so you move through a real rally instead of a random pattern.
Where does the pro timing come from?
- From professional matches tracked shot by shot in GGAB. Every shot has a contact time, a striking side, a direction and a shot type, so the gaps between your cues are the gaps the pro had between theirs. Easy and Faster stretch or squeeze those real gaps by a stated amount; nothing is generated.
Why train with real rally timing?
- Random drills tend to give you even, predictable gaps. Real rallies don't: a fast drive exchange leaves you a fraction of a second, a high lift gives you time to recover. Shadowing that rhythm trains the split-step, recovery and changes of pace a match actually asks for.
How do I use it?
- Stand at your base position with your screen 2 to 3 metres away and the sound on. Arrows point to where the opponent's shot sends you; Shot names show what the pro played. The shrinking ring is the time left until the next shot. Start with the longest rally at Easy, then move to Pro timing.
Does it measure my reaction time?
- Not yet. A screen can show you a cue but can't see you arrive, so the drill reports the pro's timings, not a score.
